Monica Eaton established the first dedicated chargeback remediation company, Chargebacks911, providing solutions for merchants to effectively manage, mitigate and prevent chargebacks. Monica helped combat the problem by building Chargebacks911’s Intelligent Source Detection™ (ISD). Utilising payment and industry data, and proprietary AI applications, it identifies which of the three main causes of chargebacks are impacting a business: merchant error, criminal fraud and first-party misuse.
Brief biography of the nominee:
Monica Eaton was an eCommerce merchant who was seeing her profit margins eaten away by chargebacks. She tackled the problem head-on by establishing Chargebacks911. Through Chargebacks911 and its acquirer-focused sister brand Fi911, established in 2020, Monica has recovered over £4 billion in revenue, protected over 10 billion transactions, and prevented over £150 million being lost to first-party misuse.
What differentiates the nominee as the Leader / Influencer in merchant payments?
Monica’s companies serve more than 2.5 million merchants and over 50 financial institutions, including some of the biggest retailers. Monica has driven gender diversity within STEM by founding LIFT: Elevating Women in Fintech, a mentorship program between established female C-suite executives and women aspiring to work in the fintech space. Monica sits on several industry boards, including the advisory board of the Third Party Payment Processors Association, PayUK and Fintech Diversity Radar.
